So I’m part of the Adobe CC team, so I’m here to say that this review is not simply reviewing the software, but moreso just showing what the value adds are. Mind you, I’m using RRD for all my images since I don’t have development tools. When you use textures, it’s not easy to create textures as it is with Photoshop (unless you use a special program), so if I want to make a piece of armor, I can’t use the standard “copy/paste” from a pattern I downloaded from the internet.
Therefore, I store all the textures I use as patterns (about 700) in Resources. And I simply change to a different texture “file” in my “patterns” drop down, and save as a new file. Same for brushes. And I have about 60-70 brushes that I use, so that means I would have to go into Photoshop and change them, which, to me, is not practical. So, I spent about the first week of using this program trying to learn how to integrate it into my workflow with more efficiency. Then I got used to it and now I love it. It makes my workflow much faster and I love that I don’t have to deal with problems like I had to with Windows. For those of you new to Adobe products, this would be a great way to jump into it, because you can get up and running very quickly without learning every new button. I do worry that you will have to learn how to use Photoshop in a different way. I feel like I have to “think” in Photoshop, which takes a lot of time, but I never have to learn how to use features in a Photoshop.
