This application was designed for those who want to learn about QUAGI antennas. The quagi may be the best of two worlds. It has the yagis gain and the quads direct feed and signal capture.
Modelling has shown the formulae to be out a bit at the higher frequencies. For 900mhz or higher, the center frequency shifts up to 1% higher. I will upgrade the program to reflect this as soon as actual built versions verify it

For links above 800MHz, QUAGI Torrent Download line is built like the yagi. The “sleeve” is attached to the same center mount as the yagi. However for higher frequencies, the center mount is on the side of the plane, with the sleeve attached. This has the advantage of leaving the plane attached to the center mount as an integral part of the back.
Using more of the front panel of the yagi as part of the center mount, gains around 1dB more compared to the built yagi.
Quagi gain is the same as a yagi except the sleeve is no longer placed in the center. It is placed to the side of the plane, with the signal entering and exiting in the same side. This is the standard implementation of the quagi.
Reverse the plane that the sleeve is attached to, the sleeve and plane become the back of the yagi. By inverting the plane, the sleeve is attached to the front of the center mount. The sleeve becomes a fan of the plane. The fan/plane becomes the back of the yagi. The plane is the yagi sleeve. The sleeve is a plain waveguide and fan/plane is a horn. This is the basis of my quagi, the triple blade fan/plane becomes the yagi back. I did not see any loss of gain over the standard yagi back. The fan/plane that the sleeve is attached to does not need to be made out of copper, it can be brass or a simple dielectric.
Higher frequencies have the center/sleeve re-positioned, that is one of the benefits of a higher frequency quagi. However, for lower frequencies, moving the center of the back becomes a disadvantage. With the standard yagi, the quagi should work as long as the two mirrors of the yagi are held in line with each other. This will put a positive reflector on the front of the yagi and the sleeve will be on the rear. This will give the best performance. For lower frequencies, the back of the yagi must be flipped and the sleeve moved to the front of the center mount. This will give the best performance.
I have found no problem with the quagi with the existing yagi using a simple fan/plane dielectric sleeve. The dielectric sleeve needs to be wide for higher frequencies to reduce the effects of the resonant frequency. The higher the frequency the larger the sleeve should be, the

QUAGI Activator
The QUAGI is a QRP (Quasi-Rectangle Polarized) Monopole that uses a simple folded dipole feed. It will receive in the range of 30-100mhz. It is an all wire antenna with NO pre-drilled mounting holes. It can be tuned with ALL wire.
The feed line is adjustable to keep the feed at the desired height off the ground for best efficiency. The dipole is approx 40% fed at 40% of the height of the antenna, the 50% of the height feeds 80% of the dipole.
At the end of the feed line (if at all) is a “hybrid” section of constant diameter wire, with a length and diameter determined by the following equation:
L=D/(2pi)
Where:
L=Diameter of the wire
pi=3.14
The antenna will operate to 2.5kv peak to peak.
The two ends of the folded dipole may be grounded, or an “antenna extension” may be added.
There are two versions of the QUAGI: the standard “hollow” version and a thicker “bulk” version. They differ only in diameter of the section of wire at the bottom of the antenna. The hollow version is 5mm diameter, and the bulk version is 8mm diameter.
FEED LINES:
If you plan on using a dipole feed, you will need to calculate the lengths and diameter of the feed lines. To do this simply divide the length of the folded dipole by the number of “folds”. This will be the diameter of the feed line at the fold. For the length of the feed line, just divide the dipole length by the number of folds (leaving a decimal)
The cut out illustration above is a 22 fold line. 22 fold lines will give an 8mm diameter line at the bottom of the dipole

Instructions for use:
If you are using the latest version (REV. 5) of the program, change the “unhide” settings in the options screen. Hide settings are those things that are on by default. It will save you from the frustration of trying to find an option and having to learn about it later.
To make changes to the program, select “START” from the Main Menu. Select “OPTIONS” from the menu, and scroll down to “MISC” and “OPTIONS”. You can change the options here. These settings have a default value of “No”, and “Yes” means you have used the default values. It also depends on the setting in the startup screen. To view the startup screen settings, select “START” from the Main Menu, and select “STARTUP” from the menu.
To edit the chart options, select the “Chart” tab. Then click on the “EDIT CHART” button. The tab should be selected. Select “Scale” from the menu to the left. Then drag the top right corner of the chart down to the right. Then drag the left corner down to the left.
Any change made from the startup screen takes effect on next startup.
If you do not see the settings as above, or if you make a change and it does not take effect, try closing the program and reopening.
There is a host of options. Please refer to the program help to use the full capacity of this program.

Main Screen:
The “Settings” button is at the bottom right of the screen. To the left of the button is the current frequency.
To the right is the 100W output.
To the left of the radio is the input for the antenna, and the antenna loop is to the left. The loop is a long straight line with a rounded edge. You can adjust the length from the “Loop Length” button.
Select the input for the antenna from the menu.
When the loop is selected, it will extend. The default
