Connecting ASP.NET MVC 2 app to SQL Server CE 3.5 database file

I’m developing an MVC ASP.NET app in Visual Studio 2010 that needs to connect to a SQL Server CE 3.5 database file that I’ve created in a folder on the machine. I can connect to this database file from SQL Server Management Studio without any problems. I’ve followed the instructions from Microsoft to set the connection string to this database, but I’m still getting an error when I run the application.
The error I’m getting is:

et40\Microsoft.Data.Edm.dll’. Make sure the assembly exists on disk. If this reference is required by your code, you may get compilation errors.

I’ve verified that my SQL Server CE database is in the default location C:\Users\…\AppData\Local\Temp\NuGetPackages\NuGet\2.5.3.3\0a375e65.b95e08d1, and I can connect to it from a SQL Server Management Studio without any problems. I’ve also verified that my connection string in my web.config file is set to the database file path.
Any ideas?

It looks like the NuGet package you are using, Microsoft.Data.Edm.dll, has a copy of itself in the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files folder.
If you delete that folder, and then re-install the package, the error should go away.
