Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

NetClasses: is a pure C++ library that uses the.NET framework to provide platform-independent components and interfaces, including the ADN class definitions for the AutoCAD.Net development environment.
Autodesk started development in 1986 with early versions of Autocad R14. It was originally developed as a 3D vector drawing program to complement the upcoming release of AutoCAD. It was released in 1989 as AutoCAD. AutoCAD’s primary functions have remained the same since then, but over the years, the program has continued to evolve, to include a more robust programming language, data formats, and an improved user interface.
The early version was based on the ObjectARX system. In 1995, Autodesk released AutoCAD R15, introducing a real-time solid modeler and a new AutoLISP system. In 2000, AutoCAD 2D was released. It was based on the NETLISP system and included support for line drawings and symbols. NetClasses were introduced as a C++ class library in AutoCAD 2002. AutoCAD 2002 also introduced an object-oriented architecture, which was based on the system defined by ObjectARX, but simplified to a point where one could use it without understanding ObjectARX at all. AutoCAD 2002 was the first release to support the native.NET Framework, introduced in 2001.
In 2005, AutoCAD Map 2D was released. AutoCAD Map 2D was the first release to fully support parametric grids. It was based on the C++ framework, and supported the native ObjectARX system, but simplified to a point where one could use it without understanding ObjectARX at all. AutoCAD Map 2D added many new features and was considered to be an important release.
In 2006, AutoCAD was made available to Mac OS and Linux users. AutoCAD 2008 for Windows was released in March 2008, with further improvements to 2D and 3D capabilities.
In 2009, the third-party AutoCAD Add-on for Civil 3D was released. It was the first release to provide native.NET support and full functional compatibility for the two products.
In 2010, the native Add-on for AutoCAD Architecture was released. It was the first release to offer the ability to create multi-family dwellings. AutoCAD 2010 was the first release to support native.NET and the native ObjectAR

A US group has dubbed the Google Fiber experiment in Kansas City as a “disaster” in a letter to the city’s government.
“If Google Fiber is going to work, it is going to have to work in the face of extreme community opposition,” said the letter from eight Kansas City residents.
“The history of Google Fiber in Kansas City is a disaster: from the failure of public consultation, to the utter lack of transparency, to the choice of a company that seems to have been co-opted to serve their corporate ambitions.”
The letter was the first sign of opposition from Kansas City’s major telecom firms, and comes as Google Fiber is due to begin commercial services on Monday.
It is billed as the US’s first true “superfast” broadband service, offering speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second – more than 10 times the speed of the fastest DSL connection currently available in the city.
Google is offering the service in a few areas of Kansas City – one of which will become available to the public on Monday – and has signed up 3,000 customers.
But the letter authors accuse Google of not fully engaging with the community when it was launching its trial service in a handful of neighbourhoods.
“Although we have been given ample reason to doubt that it is possible to provide low-cost and high-quality broadband service using Google Fiber technology, we are confident that it can be done in the Kansas City area,” the letter said.
“However, the community has been left with nothing.”
The letter writers pointed out that Kansas City was already set to implement a universal fiber broadband network known as KC-NET, which had been the subject of extensive community consultation.
They argued that, because of this, the city was in no way a good place for Google to try to install a new network.
“We do not believe that Google Fiber should have been chosen for Kansas City,” the letter continued.
“We have only recently learned the extent to which Google Fiber has failed to respect the community and the democratic process.
