btw, firefox portable version 3.0.4, does not have a registration key for the hkey_current_user registry key. instead it uses the hkey_local_machine key.
portable version 3.5.0 has a registry key, and it uses the hkey_current_user registry key.
i love it when people ask ‘what’s wrong with firefox’. i’ve been using it for a long time now and i agree with most of the points you’ve made. it is a very fast, stable and resource-friendly browser. it also has many other useful features like the ability to import bookmarks and easily switch between windows/tabs. overall it’s probably my favourite browser of all time.
now that is some iron mening that is big time in the making. i have been using firefox for at least 5 years now and it was always slow when i had to search a bunch of pages. now i can search all the pages at once and start quickly. thanks for the release.
i have had firefox installed since version 2. it always had it’s quirks and bugs, and it always had a lot of memory use. even when i had to reinstall it, it always took a lot of time to start. now it’s faster and more stable. no more crashes or memory leaks. i’m actually happy to be using a browser that works and is stable.
firefox 35.0b1 is available for download on the mozilla website. it is a significant improvement over the previous release, firefox 35.0, and should be very stable. you can also get the latest build from this link.
firefox is a great browser, but the user interface in 4.x is really really terrible. it’s like they changed it to be fashionable. it’s not like i don’t use an integrated search box in my browser, it’s there, but it looks stupid and that’s the way it’s been since 2.0. i’ll have to stay with 2.0 and 3.0 for a long time, maybe forever.
not to mention, the interface isn’t looking very great. it looks like an active mac interface. i don’t like it, and it just doesn’t look good.
also, i can’t tell how many tabs i have open because the status bar doesn’t show the number. i like tabs, i like to know how many i have open, and i like to be able to see how many i have open, but they moved it.
again, i like the feature, but i don’t like the look. it’s not ugly, it’s just not my taste. it’s too much like opera.
