Who Are We? (And Who Are You?)

Since we’re in the midst of summer vacation, I thought that it would be appropriate to look at a word we all use more than we think we do, and can’t wait to use in the Fall (Yes, Fall. It’s the time of year we must all be thinking about getting rid of the summer clothes…). The word is “We”. We. Us. You. And we are having so much fun playing with it that I thought, why just take a look at the first word? Let’s see where we go with the others.

We can also play around with identity. Do you treat the words, we, we, etc. in your writing as if they are stage directions?

One of the things I do that may put other writers off, is to say it a different way every time. I figured that they’ll be tired of my using “they” in my book, so I started to play with the word. Sometimes “they” is right, however. How is the word “they” being used in your writing?

Oh, a fun thing with the word “we”, is that the plural of “we” is often, you guessed it, “we”. How fun is that? It’s kind of a game with me. What if we play it?

First let’s answer the question, “Who are we? ” I know I am sister Kathleen.
She’s also earthy and down to earth. She grew up very rural
and speaks with a barnyard twang. In the dead of winter, I
always feel like I’m going to turn inside out, or at least go
runny eyed, when I walk into the barn where she lives.

I’m very grateful that I don’t have to go
out in the cold yard with her, ‘cause she’s all out
brains in her head;‘ and she would sure freeze
inside that barn with all those cows.

In the middle of summer we sometimes still go inside a barn, because the hay smells sweet, and we like to poke around among the animals, etc. However, we’re getting away from the barnyard dialect here, I promise!

But we haven’t started yet.

We’re still young.
We have a long time to earn money.
Of course, you can’t earn money if you start without money.
It will take a lot of time to earn money.

The main problem is the MeroGear Project’s kickstarter. It’s a free to play that has microtransactions. You need to spend the money in MeroGear project to be able to unlock the rest of the game. The main problem with that is that game already came out and it’s very hyped up with the fanbase of Earth Defense Force on the side of it. This game has a huge fan base of Earth Defense Force, I’m sure you can imagine that a lot of money will be pulled from the Earth Defense Force fanbase to get the MeroGear project $1
